My Birthday Presents
Some of you might know, some of you dont... That I love to collect handbags. Sumpah rambang mata kalau tengok handbag. And to some of my avid readers, you should already knew about what is the only thing that would make my head over heels.... Designer handbags!!! Haha.
So your guess is right. Aku dapat handbag untuk birthday aku. Not one. But... Ermmm... Nine bags. Kill me now, I know.
Well... Five of them were presents for me, which one of them was from someone special, three bags I bought during Black Friday, susah betul nak resist temptation -.- And another one is the most special. Beg idaman aku yang dah lamaaa sangat aku tunggu nak beli. And I worked hard for it no matter what it takes. The one and only... Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM.
If you read here and here, I talked a lot about this bag. It was like the ultimate reason why I took a part-time job, that later I menyesal coz it costs lots of time and effort just to earn money. But it all paid off with the purchase of this handbag. But kill me now, again, coz right now I'm darn broke T_T
Finally it's no longer a dream..
The birthday card that came with it
I bought this bag because I know it would be a good investment in the future. Do you know that LV would increase the price for their bags at about $50 to $80 a year? And the second-hand bags worth just like the new ones. The bag that has been used for about 2-3 years would be decreased in price for about $50 to $150 so it's still worthy to sell back. Unlike other brands, LV would not held any sale events, give discounts and such. So if you are planning to buy one, buy now before they increase the price. Lol.
My main purpose to buy this bag is to use it as a college bag. It would fit everything in it. Laptop, notes, textbooks, everything under the sun lah senang cerita. And later, it would be suitable to be used as a work bag, diaper bag, etc. So if you really planned to own an LV, consider this model in monogram print because it would last you forever. Plus, you could change the shape of this bag by pulling the straps on its sides. I really love to make a hexagon shape with this bag if I don't use it to stuff in my books.
Ok terpanjang pulak cerita bag. Next I bought a guitar. Saje nak belajar main guitar lebih serious lagi. That's why I bought the good one. Since I dont know what is the criteria of a good quality guitar, I asked some of my friends, my brothers, my fiance, and they all agreed that this is the best option for a beginner like me. It's Fender Starcaster. Bought it second-hand from Ebay, but it's in excellent condition. At first I thought of getting a pink colored guitar coz I think it would be cool if I rock em, but most of them are trashy. That's why I'm getting the ol' beige color.. -.-
Well, it was all came back to months ago. I was jokingly told him that if he got me an LV bag for hantaran of our wedding, I would love him forever. It was a joke ok, well I'd really love to, but I dont want to burden anyone. But he took it seriously and bought it for my birthday this year. Oh well... I love him more and more everyday :)
Presents from my parents are still on their way, so I'm eagerly waiting for something from Malaysia. Haha! I love everyone :)
Black Friday: Bag Madness
Since Black Friday last year aku tak pergi mana-mana, this year aku decided untuk ke factory outlet yang terletak di Woodbury, NY. Last minute punye decision lepas bukak akaun bank and kira bajet berapa nak spend. Huhu. Ohh btw kalau sesiapa taktahu, Black Friday ialah hari di mana dekat US ade sale besar-besaran, setahun sekali. And dibuat pada cuti Thanksgiving.
Perjalanan ke Woodbury ambik masa 4jam, so sepanjang dalam kereta tu menonong je taktahu nak buat apa... Kitorang gerak pukul 6.30pm, sampai pukul 11.30pm. Bila sampai je memang penuh dah orang. Sebab Woodbury ni kira macam besar jugak. And biasanya sale start masa midnight. So do expect yang semua takkan tidur semata-mata untuk shopping. Aku pun. Kitorang shopping daripada pukul 11.30pm sampai 7am.. Tapi pukul 6am aku dah surrender. Aku duduk atas lantai dekat food court and makan burger ikan sebab dah tak larat and mata dah merah mengantuk. Ni keje paling gila ok. Tak pernah-pernah aku berjalan satu malam tak tidur.
So dalam masa yang panjang tu, aku takde benda aku berjalan je keluar masuk kedai. Kalau kedai tu famous je, confirm kena beratur untuk masuk sebab kalau dilepaskan semua orang masuk kedai ikut suka hati, confirm kedai boleh roboh sebab ramai sangat manusia. Memang ramai gila manusia. Terutamanya Asians. Aku taktau la pesal masing-masing dok heret bag luggage yang besar setiap sorang.
So, dalam masa 8jam tu aku just borong ni je.. Still under budget so ok kot...

Dah lama teringin nak beli satu bag Kate Spade, so bila dapat beli pada harga yang memang murah gila, memang susah untuk dielakkan. I love the lining.. Warna oren pekat..
Lama jugak beratur nak masuk kedai. Bila masuk, ramai gila orang. Semua handbag 70% off. Mana lah tak ramai orang serbu. Tapi 70% off tu untuk orang yang datang sebelum 2am. After 2am, semua handbag dapat 50% off. So now u know kenapa orang ramai-ramai shopping tengah-tengah malam ni.
Funny thing happened masa aku tengah try-try pakai bag ni depan cermin.. Aku macam tak tau nak decide warna apa, sebab design sama cuma warna lain. Then someone bawak bag berlonggok depan cermin, cakap kat aku "Excuse me" dia nak tumpang cermin. So aku ketepi sikit. Bila dah lama-lama membelek sambil berfikir pasal bag, tetibe dari belakang perempuan sebelah aku tadi cakap "Pilih la warna nude tu. I suka". Aku macam whattt? Melayu? Pastu aku toleh kat dia. Ohh Melayu rupanya.. Ingatkan Asian mana tadi. Haha! Rupanya baru perasan ramai Melayu dalam store tu. Ada dalam 4 orang. Tu lah gila sawan sangat shopping sampai tak tengok orang.. Tapi memang by the time dia bersuara, aku dah decide nak beli warna nude ni. Cantik...
Guess. 30% discount.
Bag ni masa memula nampak dari jauh, nampak cantik sangat. Bila pakai, OMG cantik gila like perfect sangat. Tapi aku tak beli. So aku tinggalkan kedai Guess ni sebab nak cari bag Longchamp. Sekali hampas, Longchamp takde sale. Maka aku pun berjalan-jalan lagi, but still tak dapat lupakan bag ni. So aku cari balik kedai Guess memandangkan aku dah sesat jauh. Sesampai je, beratur panjang ok line orang nak masuk Guess. Dah la sejuk mengigil pulak tu sebab outlet ni outdoor. Time tu dah potong stim. Aku taknak beratur. Tapi somehow aku nak jugak masuk and tengok balik bag ni.
End up aku beli.

Bag ni daripada first look, nampak cam comelsss gilooo. Bila aku pakai, nampak berganda-ganda lagi comel. Haha! So aku decided untuk beli since bag ni paling murah antara semua bag tadi and still under budget. Aku tau tak ramai akan minat bag camni, but tadi aku dah tanya my bestfriend, Fairuz, dia kata dude, comel gilaaaaa!!!!!

So maknanya memang comel la tu sebab mata dia hanya memandang benda-benda comel je.
Selain dari tu, aku tolong kawan aku, Shifa untuk carikan dia handbag. Like random gila kot. Masa otw ke NY, dalam kereta aku tweet dengan dia, tiba-tiba dia agree nak beli bag. Aku takde hal pun nak carikan.
Dia mintak tolong carikan bag satchel kulit yang berwarna brown, and size tak besar sangat serta design simple. Agak tough jugak mencarinya sebab tak banyak kedai jual bag warna coklat. Merata aku cari, end up dia setuju dengan bag yang aku jumpa dekat ALDO. So inilah dia bag tersebut.
Bagi ni memang cantik. Serious aku nak angkut jugak untuk diri sendiri, tapi fulusnya ngak ada. Duit dah habis spend beli bag tadi maka mengapa harus membeli bag lagi?? So aku just go straight to the counter tanpa pikir panjang. But then sumpah beratur nak bayar tu lama gila. 45minit for God sake orang kaunter tu buat apa? Padahal line takdela panjang mana pun. Aku time tu dah mengantuk nak makan, nak tidur.. So lepas bayar terus pergi cari food court. Sesat sekali lagi. Tempat ni besar kot.
Makin hari nak siang, makin sejuk pulak. Mengigil-gigil aku time ni. Masa matahari baru nak terbit, kitorang bergerak pulang. Masing-masing keletihan. Memandangkan perjalanan ambik masa 4jam, driver yang tak tidur satu malam pun mengantuk. And there's something happened masa perjalanan balik tu.
Driver tertidur, so kereta pun melencong nak melanggar tebing jalan. Nasib baik member yang duduk sebelah driver menjerit, so akak yang drive tu terbangun and sempat control kereta. Aku yang tengah sedap tidur pun terbangun sebab terkejut sangat, and kereta bergegar gila, aku mati-mati ingat kita dah terlanggar tebing tu. Syukur semuanya selamat sampai rumah. And nasib baik aku pakai seatbelt walaupun aku duduk dekat seat belakang.
Semuanya gara-gara tengok video clip Anuar Zain terbaru, lagu Ajari Aku yang ada babak Nora Danish accident masa otw ke reception kahwin dia sebab kereta dia accident and dia tak pakai seatbelt. Memang membawa mesej berguna ok lagu tu so that kita semua beringat untuk pakai seatbelt walaupun duduk dekat seat belakang.

Things I Would Never Have Enough
So clearly I enjoy shopping, which I shouldn't do coz I'm still a student... But this feeling..... I can't resist!! So whenever I do some shopping, I would check these items coz (1) Im enjoying the beauty of it (2) Im planning to buy one. Lol. Talk about self-indulgence, Im good at it. Then feel guilty afterwards. Like always.
So these are the things that I 'enjoy just looking at em' (and secretly buy em afterwards). The list could go on and on, but these are the list toppers.
ClothesMy bad habit is that I always try to convince myself that I need a new shirt or jeans for something something when it is really not necessary. Like I don't need those, I always end up with bags full of clothes. Making decision is hard.
Handbags
Since I've been staying in the US, branded handbag is everywhere and it's very tempting. It's hard to control myself, so I always end up with a new pricey bag. But right now I try to hold myself a bit coz I'm saving up for the bag of my dream. Just wait until I reveal what I got for my birthday this year coz it would be a huge achievement for me! It is different than 2 years ago, where I usually went with quantity over quality, but now no more. Right now I value handbag more than a just bag. To me, it is more like an investment.
Lipstick
This is my favorite section, especially at Walmart, coz this is the first section I'd encounter when I enter the store and Walmart carries many brands at cheap price. I would really like to own all the colors, hence that's why I always buy in bunch, and visit this section regularly. It's so fun experimenting with new colors everyday, and only girls know how it feels like.
Autumn '12 Fashion for Hijabi Ladies
So yesterday Belle and I didnt know what to do so she came to my house at 1am just to play dress up.. Haha! Very obvious that we two gals were bored to hell. Btw we are neighbors so takde hal lah kalau nak lepak malam-malam.
Lately, since dah start kerja (it has been 2 months already, cepatnya!) aku memang banyak gila spend. Like BANYAK gila spend untuk beli snack, makeup and baju. Paling banyak sekali baju. Next post I will show you how mad I shopped. Kalau shopping biasanya aku tak tengok brand sangat (unless if it is my favorite brand) tapi aku just beli mana yang berkenan, cantik and harga mesti taknak mahal sangat.
And baru-baru ni I really like to see some girls rockin the patterned jeans, like it is really in trend right now. So I decided to purchase a few, coz I really love how colorful a jeans could be. However, lepas beli patterned jeans ni terus jadi blur. Like I never imagined that it is so hard to pull this off awesomely. Someone must be creative enough to rock this. And so I went to my bestfriend. Ehem, Mr. Google, to check how the fashionistas do it. Here are some inspirations.
Since this is my first time buying patterned jeans, I was like blur gila taktau how to mix and match the jeans with what kind of top, shoes and everything. So I asked Belle. Belle macam expert gila, so she really helped me with this.

Wedding Dream
I know gedik sangat nak berangan pasal kahwin, tapi tipu lah kalau korang perempuan and tak pernah berangan pasal ni.. Like bukan aku nak kahwin esok, so apalah salahnya kalau berangan sekali sekala..
Cakap pasal kahwin, first thing yang hinggap ke fikiran aku ialah konsepnya harus minimalis. Aku suka traditional English style kalau bab setting. Takde sarat meja or apa-apa.. Takde pelamin pun takpe, tapi mesti ade bahagian untuk bergambar. Jimat duit banyakkk sangat disitu.
Ok first thing first.. This is the best part. Haha. Biasanya orang simpan the best part dekat last-last, tapi memang aku punya tak boleh tertahan lagi nak bagitahu.
THE WEDDING DRESS.
To be true, I have always imagined my dress would be in off-white. Ade lace, tak sarat, senang untuk bergerak, kalau boleh nak ada pearl.. Dulu masa sekolah menengah, gedik sangat bila takde kerja aku design baju kahwin aku nak pakai nanti. And know what, baju Kate Middleton pakai untuk wedding dia almost 90% similar dengan apa aku pernah lukis! It's like bila first time tengok dia reveal baju dia, macam melihat baju imaginasi sendiri jadi nyata! Cantiknyaaaa... Cuma takdelah over nak kain meleret panjang. But now since dah bertudung, haruslah sopan sikit. So Vivy Yusof is the inspiration. Ohh, and the most important thing: the dress should be timeless. Not too trendy or else, I would laugh at myself and wont share the picture with anyone else 40 years later.

I cant find the best picture of her dress, but I really like how she styled her tudung. Very much the same thing I would do on my weding day. Simple but nice. And the touch of pearl. Ahh, just perfected the perfection. (Over tak puji? Haha)

THE MAKEUP.
Sebut pasal makeup, again, I really like simple, natural make up. Similar to what Kate and Vivy did on their big day. Kalau boleh nak buat make up sendiri so that boleh control berapa mm ketebalan make up yang ditepek tu. Haha! Tapi apakan daya. Skill pun tak power... But did I mentioned I did my own makeup on my engagement day with the help from Fairuz? Nak ulang berapa kali kan? Bangga sangat.. *Pat self on the back*

Tak kisah la.. Still beautiful and suit the dresses and wearers perfectly.
I would always imagined that my wedding would be held at the seaside during the evening or a garden wedding. Though these may seem to be too good to be true, but still, not impossible. Dont care if that sounds too mat salleh or not 'Malay enough', I just want it to be like what I've always wanted. And from the descriptions and imaginations, I dont think this wedding would cost so much right? No hassle, just a perfect wedding dream from a little girl's perspectives.

Haaa.. would it be nice to have a wedding like this...
But after reading this article, Im not sure if I still want to continue with the beach wedding. So many crazy things to consider like the weather, the venue, the guest list (obviously not everyone would be invited if it's a private beach wedding) and how convenient for the guest to come and sit still. Oh well. All weddings have their own issues and difficulties. And that make it more memorable.
P/S:
To those who's been asking, no, Im not planning to get hitched soon. I still haven't decided on that yet. Do expect it after I graduated, have a stable job and ticked most things in my bucket list.. Then only I would settle down and think about this. As for now, dream on!
Alternatives for Traditional Wear
Untuk raya kali ni aku nak something new, something fresh, something modern for traditional wear like baju kurung and kebaya. Nak something yang bukan baju kurung, but still sopan and look alike. Get it?
Kebetulan baru-baru ni aku ada order baju from Thepoplook.com. Aku suka sangat-sangat. Especially this top.
Takde niat pun nak jadikan baju raya. Saje suka-suka beli. Tapi boleh je jadikan baju raya. Huhu. Lama dah idamkan baju ni, baru tadi dapat. Bila mula-mula tengok warna dia cantik sangat. Material pun macam sedap and silky. Bila pakai, terharu sangat sebab betul-betul sesuai dengan aku. So rasa happynyee..
Then dapat idea baru. What if kita jadikan baju ni baju raya, or immitation of baju kurung. Maka hasilnya jadi begini..
Just padankan dengan skirt sifon merah, now I feel like a million dollar baby. Ok tu dah melampau. But u get that what im sayin' aite?
Alangkah sopannya berpakaian begini pada hari raya kedua, ketiga dan seterusnya selain daripada pakai seluar jeans yang aku selalu buat setiap tahun. Teeeheee.
Ok. Let me tell u this. Im not so into skirts or dress. Rasa rimas. But for the looks of it, anything cannn. I dont know why I get this feeling of being super expensive whenever Im wearing a skirt or a dress.
Next I bought the limited edition Penny chiffon dress from thepoplook gak. The coral one.
Ni pun boleh jugak jadikan baju raya or ke kenduri kahwin. Sangat sesuai sebab dia berlengan and nampak manis je. So definitely a yes.

Masa beli baju ni, dalam otak aku dah berkira-kira nak pakai dengan turquoise chiffon maxi skirt yang aku ada and jadikan dia nampak macam baju kurung. Sweet mother of nature.

Simple je baju dia. Tapi nampak menarik. Just padankan maxi skirt and satu top yang labuh with a camisole to create a twisted version of baju kurung.
Dengan ini, kita boleh dapat macam-macam baju untuk dijadikan baju kurung. Jangan narrowkan pandangan hanya pada baju yang ada cutting baju kurung je, top macam batwing ke, kaftan, babydoll, empire, kimono, chiffon cardigan, peplum top pun boleh dijadikan top baju kurung jugak. Selain dari top pelbagai cutting tadi, maxi dress juga boleh dijadikan kelihatan seperti baju kurung.
For example baju atas ni. Cuba padankan dengan sheer baju kurung top or apa-apa top yang bersesuaian. Mesti nampak sopan and menarik. Suka sangat tribal print ni.

Dengan cara ni, bukan saja kita akan nampak lagi menarik, tapi baju-baju tadi boleh digunakan sebagai pakaian harian, for example nak shopping, lepak-lepak, vacation, pergi kelas, pergi kerja and banyak lagi. Takde la nampak skema je. Kalau baju kurung biasa ade dibuat orang pakai dengan seluar jeans or legging? Takde kan. Kalau ade memang pelik. So ni termasuk dalam langkah berjimat cermat jugak.
