Aktiviti Seorang Student: Spring 2013

Hi everyone! Lama dah tak update cerita pasal life. Ok kali ni aku cerita what's been happening this semester. Okiaq let's go!


This sem boleh kata aku involve dalam banyak benda compared dengan semester-semester sebelum ni. Aku join lion dance, swing dance club, choir (tapi baru minggu ni quit), jadi ajk makanan untuk malaysian night and comittee untuk prom night nanti. Kesemua event ni disumbatkan ke dalam bulan April. So do expect next month aku akan busy gila tak menang tangan. Lol.


One thing I love about this semester is Lion Dance. Lion Dance ni ialah kelab under Malaysian Student Assosiation di Penn State. Kitorang dapat banyak invitation untuk perform, tapi banyak jugak kena turned down sebab waktu tidak mengizinkan. Meriah betul masa Chinese New Year last month, dalam seminggu tu kitorang perform up to 3 performances. Macam artis kannnn? Hehe. Persembahan kitorang berbayar, so duit tu digunakan untuk beli props and lain-lain perbelanjaan untuk kitorang punya ultimate event, Malaysian Night 2013. Huuu can't wait!


Aku memang enjoy sangat Lion Dance ni. Kesemua yang dalam team ni ialah kawan-kawan aku yang rapat. Almost every week ada practice. So it feels like a little gathering.

Btw below here are the photos from yesterday. Kitorang a bit pressure sebab Malaysian Night semakin hampir. So kena lipat gandakan usaha dengan formation and lagu baru.

Lain-lain aktiviti macam biasalah. Ada meeting setiap minggu. Next month aku ingat nak start kerja, so masa makin kurang. Huhu. At the same time nak catch up with studies sebab sem ni kena jaga sikit GPA, tak boleh main-main. Btw bercakap pasal studies, semester ni aku cuma ada kelas pada hari Selasa and Khamis. Hari lain sama ada aku sibuk merendek, tidur, pegi meeting/practice atau study. Haha! Tapi most of the time memang aku study, kite tak tifuuuuuuu.... 


Aku ambil 4 subjek je sem ni. Taktau kenapa malas sangat. Lol. Kelas-kelas aku ambil sem ni ialah:
  • Social Stratification (SOC429)
  • Sociology of Mental Illness (SOC497A)
  • Biology of Human Bodies (BIOSC004)
  • Introduction to Drawing (ART20)

Aku enjoy kesemua kelas kecuali Social Stratification sebab taktau lahhh. Asal kelas je aku rasa nak tidur. Dah lah banyak kerja pulak tu. Huhuuu...


Tapi kalau nak cakap pasal kelas paling banyak aku bagi attention, rasanya kelas drawing sebab aku minat sangat drawing. Btw ni ialah assignment yang aku baru je lepas submit tadi.

Aku rasa kelas drawing ni demanding sangat. Banyak pakai duit, banyak masa dan kesabaran. Tambah-tambah pulak bila tetiba datang angin lecturer tu suruh hantar 8 lukisan detail dalam masa satu hari. Fuhhhhh. Tak pun time mood melukis takde, rasa macam nak lukis orang lidi dengan rambut penyapu je. Actually aku tak merungut pun. Takde siapa paksa aku ambik kelas ni, aku yang suka-suka nak ambik. Memang aku minat sangat bidang seni, tak kiralah apa jenis seni pun, semua aku suka. Cuma peluang tu jarang dapat, plus aku tak berbakat sangat. Asal boleh jelaaa...


Bawah ni antara assignment yang pernah submit. Walaupun kelas tu barely ajar apa-apa sebab aku ambik kelas online, tapi through practice yang banyak, somehow aku boleh nampak improvement dalam skill aku. Tak sia-sia usaha melukis siang malam..

Makin lama makin sibuk, so maybe dalam bulan April ni aku akan jarang update blog. Tapi of course aku akan update tentang 2 big events yang dalam perancangan, which is Malaysian Night and Senior Prom Night. Hehe! Till then, see you on the next post.

My Birthday Presents

Some of you might know, some of you dont... That I love to collect handbags. Sumpah rambang mata kalau tengok handbag. And to some of my avid readers, you should already knew about what is the only thing that would make my head over heels.... Designer handbags!!! Haha.


So your guess is right. Aku dapat handbag untuk birthday aku. Not one. But... Ermmm... Nine bags. Kill me now, I know.


Well... Five of them were presents for me, which one of them was from someone special, three bags I bought during Black Friday, susah betul nak resist temptation -.- And another one is the most special. Beg idaman aku yang dah lamaaa sangat aku tunggu nak beli. And I worked hard for it no matter what it takes. The one and only... Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM.


If you read here and here, I talked a lot about this bag. It was like the ultimate reason why I took a part-time job, that later I menyesal coz it costs lots of time and effort just to earn money. But it all paid off with the purchase of this handbag. But kill me now, again, coz right now I'm darn broke T_T


 Finally it's no longer a dream..


The birthday card that came with it

I bought this bag because I know it would be a good investment in the future. Do you know that LV would increase the price for their bags at about $50 to $80 a year? And the second-hand bags worth just like the new ones. The bag that has been used for about 2-3 years would be decreased in price for about $50 to $150 so it's still worthy to sell back. Unlike other brands, LV would not held any sale events, give discounts and such. So if you are planning to buy one, buy now before they increase the price. Lol.



My main purpose to buy this bag is to use it as a college bag. It would fit everything in it. Laptop, notes, textbooks, everything under the sun lah senang cerita. And later, it would be suitable to be used as a work bag, diaper bag, etc. So if you really planned to own an LV, consider this model in monogram print because it would last you forever. Plus, you could change the shape of this bag by pulling the straps on its sides. I really love to make a hexagon shape with this bag if I don't use it to stuff in my books.


Ok terpanjang pulak cerita bag. Next I bought a guitar. Saje nak belajar main guitar lebih serious lagi. That's why I bought the good one. Since I dont know what is the criteria of a good quality guitar, I asked some of my friends, my brothers, my fiance, and they all agreed that this is the best option for a beginner like me. It's Fender Starcaster. Bought it second-hand from Ebay, but it's in excellent condition. At first I thought of getting a pink colored guitar coz I think it would be cool if I rock em, but most of them are trashy. That's why I'm getting the ol' beige color.. -.-




Ok now untuk menjawab persoalan semua pasal what my fiancé got for my birthday... Well it's a bit of a surprise to me.. It's not the gift, really.. But the thought and the effort to make me happy is what I count the most. He got me an LV jugak, and he bought it a month before my birthday. That time I still haven't bought my first LV, so actually his gift is my first one. He used his first gaji to buy it for me, so I was really surprised by that. Well I dont have the photo. But it's like a mini Speedy where I could use it to keep my makeup on the go, or simply put my ID in it or keys.


Well, it was all came back to months ago. I was jokingly told him that if he got me an LV bag for hantaran of our wedding, I would love him forever. It was a joke ok, well I'd really love to, but I dont want to burden anyone. But he took it seriously and bought it for my birthday this year. Oh well... I love him more and more everyday :)


Presents from my parents are still on their way, so I'm eagerly waiting for something from Malaysia. Haha! I love everyone :)

Blue Rosette Cake

Beberapa hari lepas aku berjaya buat kek yang aku teringin nak buat since raya Haji lepas tapi tak menjadi. But kali ni jadi! So I was so overwhelm, rasa puas hati sangat. Afir kata kek ni cantik, so maknanya aku berjaya. Funny thing, we were planning to make our own wedding cake satu hari nanti. Tersangatlah confident. Tapi since hari tu aku fail, aku macam down sangat. But this time menjadi, so angan-angan tu still possible. Haha!


Last time aku buat kek warna pink, kali ni warna turquoise pulak. Sepatotnya nak buat kek ni sempena birthday kawan aku, Anis. Tapi hajat dia untuk melawat State College tak kesampaian, so takpelah aku buat untuk housemate and lima orang tetamu yang ada dekat rumah aku masa tu. Setelah berjam-jam berhempas pulas, maka inilah hasilnya..





Overall, memang aku sangat berpuas hati. Walaupun takdelah kemas mana, tapi sebagai percubaan pertama, boleh dimaafkanlah. Aku buat 3 tone untuk kek ni, but somehow nampak macam dua tone. Ni first time aku hias kek dalam bilik. Sebab nak mengelakkan dapur yang panas, takut frosting dia cair nanti. So memandangkan sekarang tengah winter, aku bukak tingkap bagi udara sejuk masuk bilik and start decorating. 


Kepada sesiapa yang bertanya macam mana aku hias kek ni, benda yang penting ialah kepekatan frosting and piping tip yang betul. 


Make sure tip ni bersaiz besar untuk dapatkan bunga yang besar and mekar.


Selebihnya aku tak reti nak terangkan, so tengoklah video yang aku bagi ni. :D

Things I Would Never Have Enough

So clearly I enjoy shopping, which I shouldn't do coz I'm still a student... But this feeling..... I can't resist!! So whenever I do some shopping, I would check these items coz (1) Im enjoying the beauty of it (2) Im planning to buy one. Lol. Talk about self-indulgence, Im good at it. Then feel guilty afterwards. Like always.



So these are the things that I 'enjoy just looking at em' (and secretly buy em afterwards). The list could go on and on, but these are the list toppers.


Clothes
My bad habit is that I always try to convince myself that I need a new shirt or jeans for something something when it is really not necessary. Like I don't need those, I always end up with bags full of clothes. Making decision is hard.








Handbags
Since I've been staying in the US, branded handbag is everywhere and it's very tempting. It's hard to control myself, so I always end up with a new pricey bag. But right now I try to hold myself a bit coz I'm saving up for the bag of my dream. Just wait until I reveal what I got for my birthday this year coz it would be a huge achievement for me! It is different than 2 years ago, where I usually went with quantity over quality, but now no more. Right now I value handbag more than a just bag. To me, it is more like an investment. 



Lipstick
This is my favorite section, especially at Walmart, coz this is the first section I'd encounter when I enter the store and Walmart carries many brands at cheap price. I would really like to own all the colors, hence that's why I always buy in bunch, and visit this section regularly. It's so fun experimenting with new colors everyday, and only girls know how it feels like.

Autumn '12 Fashion for Hijabi Ladies

So yesterday Belle and I didnt know what to do so she came to my house at 1am just to play dress up.. Haha! Very obvious that we two gals were bored to hell. Btw we are neighbors so takde hal lah kalau nak lepak malam-malam.


Lately, since dah start kerja (it has been 2 months already, cepatnya!) aku memang banyak gila spend. Like BANYAK gila spend untuk beli snack, makeup and baju. Paling banyak sekali baju. Next post I will show you how mad I shopped. Kalau shopping biasanya aku tak tengok brand sangat (unless if it is my favorite brand) tapi aku just beli mana yang berkenan, cantik and harga mesti taknak mahal sangat. 


And baru-baru ni I really like to see some girls rockin the patterned jeans, like it is really in trend right now. So I decided to purchase a few, coz I really love how colorful a jeans could be. However, lepas beli patterned jeans ni terus jadi blur. Like I never imagined that it is so hard to pull this off awesomely. Someone must be creative enough to rock this. And so I went to my bestfriend. Ehem, Mr. Google, to check how the fashionistas do it. Here are some inspirations. 






Since this is my first time buying patterned jeans, I was like blur gila taktau how to mix and match the jeans with what kind of top, shoes and everything. So I asked Belle. Belle macam expert gila, so she really helped me with this.
