Autumn '12 Fashion for Hijabi Ladies

So yesterday Belle and I didnt know what to do so she came to my house at 1am just to play dress up.. Haha! Very obvious that we two gals were bored to hell. Btw we are neighbors so takde hal lah kalau nak lepak malam-malam.


Lately, since dah start kerja (it has been 2 months already, cepatnya!) aku memang banyak gila spend. Like BANYAK gila spend untuk beli snack, makeup and baju. Paling banyak sekali baju. Next post I will show you how mad I shopped. Kalau shopping biasanya aku tak tengok brand sangat (unless if it is my favorite brand) tapi aku just beli mana yang berkenan, cantik and harga mesti taknak mahal sangat. 


And baru-baru ni I really like to see some girls rockin the patterned jeans, like it is really in trend right now. So I decided to purchase a few, coz I really love how colorful a jeans could be. However, lepas beli patterned jeans ni terus jadi blur. Like I never imagined that it is so hard to pull this off awesomely. Someone must be creative enough to rock this. And so I went to my bestfriend. Ehem, Mr. Google, to check how the fashionistas do it. Here are some inspirations. 






Since this is my first time buying patterned jeans, I was like blur gila taktau how to mix and match the jeans with what kind of top, shoes and everything. So I asked Belle. Belle macam expert gila, so she really helped me with this.

The sparkling sweatshirt is my fahhvorite from H&M.. Kilauan dia agak menyerlah, but still aku pakai banyak kali ke kelas last sem. Lol. I think this combination works, eventhough Belle tak approve.

Ok next style pulak banyak baju-baju yang still fresh lagi baru keluar kedai, still new. So, saje minta tolong my friend untuk style kan coz sometimes I need to be outside of the comfort zone and think outside of the box. Hehe! Maybe could be give you some ideas untuk stylekan baju korang pulak?

Predicting the Year 2000's Fashion

Last week I watched a hilarious video on Youtube about some fashion designers from 1930's predicting how the year 2000 fashion would be. I must say that I had a good laugh on this, but indeed some are true. You can watch the video first before I explain what is wrong with it. Ok, before that, I must tell you that the starting background music is kinda freaky, but just bear with it :)


The first thing that the narrator guy mentioned about what's gonna hit in 2000 is:
"Dress that can be adapted for afternoon, morning or evening. It's the sleeve what does it."
Ok, first thing that I'm gonna say, dress is extincting right now. Tak ramai yang pakai dress, so part tu dia salah. Pasal sleeve tu pulak, aku belum pernah jumpa lagi sleeve yang boleh cabut-cabut and pasang macam video ni. Well, it's a great idea, tapi orang zaman sekarang aku tengok banyak yang ubah gaya siang ke malam dengan menggunakan coat/blazer. I mean, untuk formal maybe orang akan button up the blazer. Bila tengahari or masa jalan-jalan, maybe orang akan lipat lengan blazer tu, and untuk malam, some people would take off the blazer- biasanya untuk party and stuff laaa... So, banyak function and ways to style a blazer.



"One dress of the future would consists of transparent knit. The knit would probably catch the males" I think what he tried to say is lace dress maybe. Coz sekarang tak ramai yang pakai term 'transparent knit'. LOL. And yeahh.. This is sooo true! Part yang to catch the males pun sangat benar. Menjolok mata sangat! Hikhikhik..



"Apparently in the year 2000, we should be having a hair-raising time"
Yup, this one also kena. Pandai betul tuk nenek ni teka. Ikat sanggul tinggi meletup lepas kumpulan K-Pop naik. At first, I thought it looks stupid and macam perempuan baru lepas bersalin punya rambut, but somehow bila sampai US, semua orang ikat sanggul tinggi gila sampai level atas kepala. And aku ulang lagi, SEMUA ok! Gaya ni jugak agak famous dekat fashion runway, so buat masa sekarang ni agak hit jugak laa.

"Skirts would disappear"
Yeahh dude! U are damn right! Sekarang skirt yang tinggal hanyalah mini skirt. Woohooo!! I mean, I'm talking about the US right now.. Of course lah dekat Malaysia maxi and midi skirt masih hidup..



"Shoes would have a cantilever heel"
Errkk.. Ok part ni salah. I mean, siapa zaman sekarang ni yang anggap cantilever heels cantik?


Ni cantik? Errkkk.. Not for me.


"An electric belt that will adapt the body to climatic changes"
Warghhhahahah.. Part ni tak boleh blah.. We still haven't reached that point yet. Kejadahnya dengan belt-belt camni. Tali pinggang Batman ke ape? LOL.

Ok part ni dah ngarut... Hanya Lady Gaga yang mampuuu..

LOL. This is damn retard! Part aluminium dress tu tak heran lagi, but seriously.. Electric headlight to help her find an honest man??? U must be kidding... Or you are not....?

This one maybe dalam kategori kurang benar, coz tie is still considered as a formal wear, men would always have pockets and bab shave to depends on him laa... Ada je yang tak shave... And lelaki zaman sekarang dah pandai main color ok.. Duhh...

U are soo not '2000'... LOL


"He would be fitted with a telephone, a radio and containers for coins, keys and candy for cuties."
The first thing yang aku nak gelak gila-gila ialah bila dia sebut candy for cuties. OMG. Kau dah takde benda lain ke nak bagi awek? LOL. But apa yang dia mentioned betul laa.. Lelaki mana yang boleh hidup tanpa handphone, or zaman takde handphone dulu, pakai walkman?? And lelaki akan sentiasa bawa duit ke mana-mana coz he is the bank for a woman. Yeppp...



Walaupun ada some tu pelik and tak masuk akal, but a nice try though... Bukan senang nak predict what's hot for the next 70 years kan? Even kalau kita predict something untuk 70 tahun akan datang belum tentu ada yang kena. Kalau tak kena pun, mesti people from that era would think that we are idiots from 2010. So, same situation here. But it's interesting lah untuk tahu apa imaginasi diorang pasal what the next 70 years would be, which is happening now. Tak salah nak berimaginasi. Mana tahu apa yang direpekkan tu bakal menjadi esok lusa?

Bahagianya Bershopping di Thrift Store!

I think anyone who knew me well would know that Im some kinda shopaholic.
Haha! Tapi one thing yang baiknya pasal aku ialah i know where to shop n berjimat.


After settled down dekat Penn State and dapat rumah, barulah boleh bernafas lega.
Kalau ada yang baca post aku yang lepas, mesti dapat merasakan bahawa tensionnya aku tak dapat beraya dekat Malaysia. Ye, memang stress. So, bagi mengurangkan rasa tension tu, aku pun membawa diri bershopping keseorangan naik bas. Kedai tak jauh pun, jalan kaki pun boleh. Tapi sebab aku ni makhluk pemalas, aku ambik bas. Alasan sebab berpuasa tu sangat kukuh ok bagi aku. Bagi aku. (-__-")


Memang aku dah lama teringin nak ke kedai Thrift Store yang banyak jual barang-barang lama, terpakai, vintage, antik, and macam-macam lagi yang korang boleh panggil. So, bila aku gerak tadi, tu lah kedai pertama yang aku aim. Bebudak kata barang kat kedai tu murah-murah, baju-baju semua just USD1 each. That's why aku nak pergi tengok. 


At first usha-usha baju, aku tengok harga semua dalam range USD1 - USD3, tapi not bad laaa.. Lagi murah daripada kedai Goodwill. Tapi aku budget-budget laa jugak. Aku ambik 2 kasut and 6 baju, so total dalam kepala aku kira USD16 la sebab satu barang tu USD2. Tapi masa kat kaunter makcik cashier tu tak kira pun berapa banyak barang yang aku ambik. Dia suruh aku masukkan semua barang aku dalam beg kertas yang besar and so, total aku ialah USD3. Aku cam ternganga at first, so aku tanya dia balik betul ke die kira tu. Yelah, warga makcik-makcik kan.. Tapi dia kata betul sebab ada offer, separuh beg kertas tu USD3, kalau full USD6. Memandangkan aku ambik barang just sampai separuh beg je, maka total aku ialah USD3. Wahhhh! Pengsannnnn kejap.


Then next stop ke kedai Goodwill pulak. Kedai ni agak famous sebab jual barang-barang terpakai termasuklah baju, perkakas dapur, perabot, mainan, and macam-macam lagilah. Ada banyak jugak branch kedai ni dekat US. Kat sini aku memang aim baju-baju dia pun coz sejak dah berubah penampilan ni kena la beli banyak baju sopan-sopan. And plus reason aku borong baju banyak-banyak ialah sebab aku bawak satu beg baju je from Malaysia, makanya takde variety. Aku sangat rasa terkongkong dengan betapa limitednya baju yang aku ada, that's why aku nak jugak shopping.


Now pejam mata cepat-cepat! Coz lepas ni anda akan menyaksikan betapa lame nya aku tak reti control hawa nafsu masa setan-setan kena ikat. Larikkkkk!!!



Yes, begitulah banyaknya baju yang aku beli, and masa untuk beli ni sume dalam 2 jam je dah settle. Bagaimana dengan bajet, korang tanya? Ohh masih under control!


2 dress +3 kasut + 1 selipar + 2 handbag + 15 baju + 3 knitted sweater untuk fall season = USD62
Untung sangat! Kalau dekat Malaysia memang aku dah bankrap.


Yang best nya kat sini, banyak gila barang branded boleh jumpa. Setakat brand GAP, Liz Claiborne, Isaac Mizraahi, Forever 21, Guess, Nine West, Escada, J Crew, Mossini, Moschino, Banana Republic, and banyak lagi bersepah ade kat kedai tu. Kalau pandai cari, dapat laa yang best-best.


Tapi among all, aku paling suka kasut ni. Dah lama aku cari loafer yang tinggi and selesa, and guess what, aku beli kasut ni for less than USD1. Brand Dockers kot, less than 1 dollar.. Still in a very good condition, takde yang kotor and rasa cushion and selesa sangat bila pakai. Actually banyak kasut-kasut vintage lain yang hotstuff gila, tapi tak beli sebab saiz kaki aku macam anak gajah.


Ohh wait. Hari tu gak aku bli seterika ni for USD4 only.. Dekat Walmart mahal kot, USD19. So, USD15 penjimatan. Lol. Kepochi sangat kan.. Errrkk ok bye bye!

Okay, pasni siapa nak ikut aku shopping sila angkat tangan!!!!

Tips: How To Store Your Shoes

So, since dah habis kolej ni and tamat contract dengan Casa Subang, aku pun dah tak tinggal kat Subang lagi dah. Sekarang aku tinggal dekat Rawang laa.. Yey!

So, barang-barang pun kena pindah bawak balik rumah. Dengan kondisi bilik aku yang kecik tu, aku menghadapi masalah dalam menyimpan barang. Adelah jugak 2 hari aku nak kemas and store balik barang-barang and mostly barang n dokumen lama-lama semua aku dah buang.

About 3 things yang paling buntu nak simpan ialah baju, kasut and handbags. Bab handbag tu aku dah settlekan semalam. So sekarang tinggal baju and kasut. Macam tadi aku kumpulkan kesemuaaa kasut-kasut aku dekat dalam bilik and mula fikir macam mana nak simpan semua ni.. Hurrmmm..


Ni keadaan kasut pada mulanya.. Semuanya muka-muka confuse je. Takpe-takpe, kite start slow-slow ok!


Ok, then kite bersihkan satu-satu and susun elok-elok macam ni.

Kemudian, cari plastik bag yang terpakai mana-mana and kertas untuk tulis.
Kalau ikut cara aku, aku labelkan ciri-ciri kasut tu pada kertas, termasuk nama brand or tempat aku beli, basicly anything yang buatkan kau teringat kat kasut tu. Tulis pada kad and stapler pada plastik tadi. And dia akan jadi macam ni.


See aku dah label satu-satu. Satu plastik sepasang kasut la kalau nak senang.

After that kite simpan dalam beg besar. Make sure asingkan kasut yang selalu pakai dalam satu beg and kasut yg jarang pakai lagi satu bag, coz nanti senang la nak cari..

Oh lupa lak nak gitau. Kalau ada kasut yang memahal sket tu, simpan jela dalam kotak. Cuma yang the rest je simpan dalam plastik. Kan save space tu?



Then, boleh la korang sumbat je bawah katil atau mana-mana jela tempat yang dirasakan sesuai.

Antara kelebihan buat cara ni ialah:
  • Jimat ruang untuk simpanan benda lain pulak.
  • Kasut akan berada kat satu tempat je, so kalau nak cari senang.
  • Kasut takkan kotor sebab dah disimpan dalam beg yang asing-asing
  • Kalau ada kasut busuk pun takkan berbau so, tak kisah pun kalau nak simpan dalam bilik.
  • Recycle, reuse, reduce!
  • Menjimatkan duit daripada nak beli kotak/plastik penyimpanan kasut yang agak costly tu. (hari tu aku survey kat Jusco, RM6.90 untuk sepasang kasut. Kalau ada banyak sangat kasut camne?)

Kekurangannya ialah..
  • Tak glamer sangat la rupanyaa. Tapi aku tak kisah coz nak sumbat kat bawah katil jugak akhirnya.. Hehe!
  • Terpaksa kena belek-belek plastik and baca kad tu untuk cari kasut yang dikehendaki. Agak leceh gak. (Solutionnya ialah go for plastik yg colorless and lutsinar)

Ok, so masalah kasut dah settle.
So bab baju ni nak wat camne plak?


 Masalah: Dua-dua almari dah penuh, so baju-baju ni just diletakkan kat atas lantai.
Agak tak glamer la cara ni coz mudah jatuh and tak kemas.

Agak-agak nak wat camne ye?
